Serve these waffles with gingerbread topped with honey and whipped cream for a real treat. I keep a fancy whipped cream dispenser in the refrigerator at all times for just this reason.

Waffle Recipe with Gingerbread:

Gingerbread is a quintessential holiday flavor. What is gingerbread? It’s a type of dessert or goodies that are flavored by a distinct combination of molasses and a group of spices including cinnamon, cloves, ginger and nutmeg.

Typically, cookies are the most common form of gingerbread but there are also delicious gingerbread cakes and other desserts out there. Belgian Waffles are the perfect place for the addition of gingerbread flavors.

I found this Gingerbread Belgian Waffle recipe in The Working Cook Cookbook. My nine year old daughter and niece were my assistants, and chief taste-testers. The verdict is in, and this easy gingerbread waffle recipe received 4 thumbs up.

Do you let your kids help in the kitchen? My Grandma and Mom always gave me tasks and encouraged me to cook and bake on my own, and I love passing it to the next generation. The girls are learning fractions in school, and baking is the perfect practical practice for fractions.
